Roland Comic
Welcome to Roland Comic, the website specifically designed to promote, describe, inspire and resurrect Roland Comic as well as promote other popular comic books online.
For many years, Roland Comic was a popular and much loved fantasy read for many avid fans. It is with sadness that the comic ceased to be, but this in its own strange way has made the comic even more sought after and achieved cult status amongst its large army of fans across the world.
Roland Comic was originally adapted from a translation of the "Song of Roland" by Frederick Goldin. Goldin's own translation is easily one of the best around. It is highly vigorous and powerful, fluid, fluent and never sacrifices the rhythm of the old language. Alone in a strange land, betrayed by countrymen, surrounded by hostile armies. In one day, Roland must temper courage with wisdom, choose between right and wrong, fight for his king, his faith and his life.
Whilst out of production, Roland Comic is still available as back issues from a variety of sources both online and in the many real world, brick and mortar stores that deal in comics and collectibles.
Witches at Halloween

Its that time of the year already when thoughts turn from the long, hot summer days to the cooler evenings as the daylight hours draw in and the nights get appreciably longer. We may only be partway into September, but in only seven or so weeks, it will be the end of October and Halloween will be upon us for yet another year.
What would Halloween be without a good smattering of Witches! When the kids go out on Trick or Treat, there are sure to be a goodly proportion of them wearing witches Halloween costumes to try and scare their neighbors into giving them the all important and highly coveted treats! Its the event of the fall for kids and they attack it with great relish, each trying to outdo the other with a more daring and cooler costume than everyone else.
Of course, the level of coolness and degree of amaze-ability of any outfit depends proportionally on the depth of the parents pockets when it comes to buying said outfit for Trick or Treat! But you can bet they will be able to get some pretty great get ups for the kids as the prices of the better costumes for kids hasn’t really gone up in recent years. That makes them even better value than ever before, so if you are angling for the latest superhero trademark or you want to look as scary as you possibly can, the chances your mom and dad will be only too happy to spend some case to make your dreams come true!
Halloween is a fun time of year for kids of all ages as well as the adults too, who will be retiring to their own costume parties once all the kids have done their thing, gotten their treats or the not so savored alternative and headed off to bed! Time to play adult games and the night will go on for many hours yet…

Looney Tunes Still Popular as Ever

The ever popular Looney Tunes cartoons have been a firm favorite with kids of all ages from 6 to 60 and beyond for decades now. It seems their timeless appeal never seems to fade as newer generations of kids watch them and just adore them.
That means gold for the makers and you probably will not be too surprised to hear that there is a huge marketing industry backing up the popular TV shows for kids. A new generation of Looney Tunes cartoon characters has taken the place of the older favorites characterized by Mel Blanc back in the 1940s, but all the new characters are children versions or their older counterparts. The same crazy interactions happen between characters, keeping the shows fresh and ever popular.
That marketing industry is also huge and popular with all manner of Looney Tunes toys, games, clothing and other merchandise stocked in stores everywhere, both in the malls and high streets as well as online. If you were to look around just online and see what is available, you would be quite taken aback at the sheer variety and scope of all the different merchandise that is available for anyone who has their credit card at the ready.
If you like plush toys for kids, collector’s sets for adults, illustrated tee shirts, decorated lampshades, bed spreads, pillow covers, wallpaper, wall posters, action figures, character figure play sets and just about anything else you can image, you will find merchandise carrying the images and likenesses of all your favorite Looney Tunes characters. It is not as if there is any shortage of things that these images can be associated with either. If it can have an image printed on it, then there will be Bugs Bunny or Daffy Duck or any of the other well known and much loved characters grinning at you form wherever.
If you like to watch the cartoons themselves, be they the modern TV shows or the classic cartoons from the early era of the 20th century, you can get them on DVD as well as watch some selected episodes that have been downloaded onto Youtube or other online video repository. For me, the sight of Yosemite Sam yelling “Whoa mule, whoa” and then bashing the mule over the head with a lump of wood when it wouldn’t stop is still a classic… “when Ah says whoa, Ah means WHOA!”
Yep, there are classic lines, situations and snippets that are still as ridiculously funny now as they were back then!

Keeping our minds sharp and alert doesn’t have to be boring or without fun and excitement. Thanks to the internet there are a wide range of adult learning level games designed to keep our brains growing, learning and working. The following websites are all free, although some sites do require registration in order to access the games.
1. Sudoku – this mathematical type of crossword, sequencing game has really become popular worldwide. There are several free online sites that offer Sudoku puzzles that can be accessed from any computer or device with internet access. There is one word of caution – this game gets addictive.
2. Matching Games – these are popular with children as well as adults and are a great way for parents and kids to spend some time together on the internet. Typically in these games a list of objects is found at the side of the screen, then the objects are “hidden” within the large picture. After finding all the items in the picture a riddle is solved or provided, which allows you to move to the next level. Yahoo, MSN and other websites provide several different games of these types.
3. Logic Games – Logic games require the player to problem solve or use a particular strategy to win the game. Usually levels start easy and progress to more complex and challenging patterns and problems. One website that offers a variety of free logic puzzles is Gamesgnome.com.
4. Sequencing Puzzles – these are popular on MSN and Yahoo games as well as most other games sites. Generally a set of colored objects are randomly distributed across a grid and the player has to form strands or lines of particular colors in order to clear the grid. Often the game is timed and extra points or values are added for completing the grid in advance of the time.
5. Chess – online chess is available on most chat systems as well as pre-loaded with many operating systems. Chess games can be played against the computer or in fully interactive systems with other players. Most of these games are free and allow you to set up a player name and become ranked to play increasingly more challenging opponents.
6. Mahjong – a matching and strategy game, mahjong was historically played with decorative tiles in China. The online version offers options to play against other players using the free gaming system or playing against a computer. Like Chess and Solitaire, many computers now come loaded with Mahjong as a standard game.
7. Solitaire – popular as both a card game and an online game, Solitaire is a game of memory and strategy. Players must move through a deck of cards to place sequent cards from the deck on a series of intermediary piles. From these piles the four suits must be sequenced, but only through playing the cards in a set order.
8. Memory games – any games that include matching or memorizing the location of cards, objects or items is a great way to help stimulate your mental processes.
9. Crossword Puzzles – most people are very familiar with traditional crossword puzzles. Using the online option allows you to move through levels or even choose a particular theme of puzzle all with the ease of a mouse click. For a great challenge USATODAY.com offers a free daily crossword puzzle.
10. Math Games – although people often think of math games for children, any type of math activity is good for brain stimulation. Consider math challenges, math teasers and even math crossword puzzles as a free option for increasing and maintaining you skills.
